Protector Trials is just the first of a series of single player mission packs that 2K Games is planning for the coming months. The DLC will be available from the 3rd of August 2010 and will be priced at 5 dollars for the PlayStation 3 and 400 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360 and Games for Windows. The challenge maps will have three difficulty levels to chose from, catering to newcomers and veterans alike. The downloadable package will include six new maps that are based on locations already known from BioShock 2, new unlockable items and seven fresh Achievements for Xbox 360 or Trophies for the PlayStation 3. Protector Trials contains a series of challenges involving keeping the Little Sister alive that are meant to expand on the much vaunted combat from BioShock 2. The new missions will see players filling in the shoes of the Big Daddy as he defends his Little Sister from the wretched Splicers who intend to steal the ADAM she has gathered from the corpses around Rapture. 2K Games has announced the first set of single player downloadable content for BioShock 2 entitled Protector Trials.
